Meet our new VP of Engineering, Pieter Boogaerts. With over 15 years of IT experience in a variety of leadership roles and industries, we count on Pieter to further optimize and strengthen our R&D capability.
Can you tell us a bit more about your career so far?
I started out as a software developer but pretty quickly took on more responsibility by managing teams in IT infrastructure and operations. I’ve done my share of development and operational support for complex enterprise systems. The last 10 years I worked in IT architecture roles in Food Retail and Telecom. I primarily focused on developing the long term IT strategy, translating it into a feasible short term technology roadmap and driving it day by day by inspiring the team.
What will your role be as VP of Engineering?
My first focus, together with the R&D team, is to streamline our development pipeline so we can bring it to the next level. We want to bring new functionalities to the market at increased speed while maintaining the high quality of delivery and customer support that Qcify is known for. I strongly believe in the potential of a more DevOps oriented approach as an essential foundation for the future of Qcify.
Secondly, we want to further develop our product and feature roadmap. Based on customer feedback and insights from our sales and field services team, we plan to enhance our QiS system. In addition, the team has a few other product ideas in mind but hopefully more on that in a future update!
What are you most looking forward to?
I’m used to working in big enterprise organizations, so I’m really looking forward to the speed and dynamics of a young organization. Definitely at the stage Qcify is today: expanding its service offering and at the same time scaling up the organization.
Any other interesting facts we should know about you?
I’m an avid tinkerer and proud dad of two boys. Always happy to help out on a raspberry or python project, throw in some astronomy and I’m completely sold.
