With the launch of the Qcify AIR, Qcify just got a whole lot closer to reaching that goal.

Built for processors, designed for progress
Like any Qcify innovation, the Qcify AIR sparked from our conversations with our customers and partners. All across the tree nut and peanut industry, we picked up on a need for a quality control and optical sorting solution that delivers real-time product data without relying on manual intervention. Our customers, and the rest of the industry alike, want a system that doesn’t just improve food safety and final product quality, they want a sorter that seamlessly integrates with all other equipment across the line and which demands as little operator intervention as possible.
“Our mission with the Qcify AIR was to help processors make better decisions, faster,” says Pieter Ieven, CEO of Qcify. “No guesswork, just real-time data and smart automation.”
The AIR was developed in close collaboration with nut processors around the world. They needed something more than just defect removal. They wanted a system that integrated with their processing lines, reduced operator intervention, and delivered high-end results with minimal effort while generating a clean reject stream to minimize rework.
“The AIR was built around those needs,” adds Raf Peeters, Founder and President of Qcify. “It brings everything Qcify has been working on together. Quality control, food safety, and intelligent sorting in one system.”

Double-sided sorting with powerful AI
The Qcify AIR is Qcify’s first inline sorter with double-sided RGB cameras. It captures sharp images of every nut, from both sides. Almonds, walnuts, pistachios, … Defects don’t stand a chance.“Our deep learning models are trained on real-world product data”, explains Antoon De Cleen, R&D Director. “We’ve built the system to recognize subtle issues across a wide range of nut types.”
The sorter uses a 6mm nozzle pitch for pinpoint accuracy. This means fewer false rejects and more usable products. Yield stays high, and quality stays consistent.
Real-time monitoring and seamless integration
The AIR connects directly to the Qcify HUB. This centralized platform collects data from all your Qcify machines. That includes the Qcify RAY, Qcify EYE, and Qcify 360, in addition to the new Qcify AIR.“Connecting the dots between your machines is what takes quality control to the next level,” says Simon Kerkhofs, Sales and Marketing Director. “With the HUB and QDashboard, part of Qcify’s cloud based solution, you get a full overview of line performance at any time. In addition, quality reports and images of critical defects are available in real-time for internal quality control management.”
The system also allows you to receive alerts, monitor trends, and take action. All in real-time. Everything is visible. By combining Qcify’s range of in-line sensors and sorters, there’s no longer the need for QC personnel to physically check in on each machine’s performance. Now, your operators can focus their attention on turning data into actions rather than manually controlling machine performance.
Simple and intuitive user interface
“Ease of use was key,” says Ilyich Craeghs, Regional Sales Manager and Product Owner of the Qcify AIR. “Operators can learn the AIR quickly, even with no prior experience.”The AIR’s user interface is clear and easy to navigate. Quality data is displayed in either piece count or in percentages. You choose what works best for your team.
In combination with the Qcify RAY, you can unlock real-time alerts to keep your QC team informed of any product changes or line issues. This reduces the need for manual checks and speeds up response times.
Built for every nut type
The Qcify AIR is built to seamlessly cover a wide range of different types of nuts such as almonds, walnuts, pistachios, hazelnuts, cashews, macadamias, and more. Qcify’s AI-powered sorting models adapt easily to each nut type and defect profile.“Our sorting technology is constantly evolving,’ says Dries Hendrikx, Director of Applications at Qcify. “If we encounter a new defect, we update the model. There’s no need to reprogram the machine on-site because we can update the sorting models remotely.”
This flexibility helps keep operations smooth as it reduces both travel time and travel cost, keeps TCO low, and minimizes down time of the machine. Whether you’re running a single product or switching between varieties, the AIR keeps up.
Additionally, the mechanical engineering team of the AIR designed the hardware in such a way to avoid any product damage if possible. They achieved this by ensuring the drop between the product and the chute is as small as possible. This also contributed to the Qcify AIR’s compact footprint, allowing for seamless integration into any processing line. Furthermore, the chute was also optimized with an S-shape to warrant soft product handling.

Smarter sorting starts here
Backed by over a decade of experience in the automated quality control industry, Qcify created the Qcify AIR to help processors reduce labor, increase yield, and raise food safety standards. With deep learning, in-line monitoring, and real-time defect removal, it puts you in control of your quality control process. The AIR connects seamlessly with the full Qcify ecosystem. Together, the AIR, HUB, RAY, EYE, and 360 create a closed-loop system that powers smarter decision-making and more consistent results.
Let Qcify help you connect the dots across your operation.
